Join us for Saturday morning services at our synagogue, Congregation Beth Am in Los Altos. The Bar Mitzvah service is the regular Saturday morning service differing only in that Sawyer will lead many of the prayers and readings. The service is conducted in a combination of English and Hebrew.
Saturday evening we'll celebrate at Sparky's Hot Rod Garage in San Carlos. Dinner will be served, and we'll have a DJ and dancing. Even if you can't attend the morning service, we hope that you'll join for the evening celebration.
Thank you to everyone who is traveling from out of town to attend. We have recommendations for nearby hotels and some suggestions for things to do between the service and the evening party.
Congregation Beth Am is a reform Jewish congregation. Services begin at 10:30 a.m and last until around noon. Services are always open to anyone who wants to attend, and we welcome parents who would like to join us for the service and lunch. Dress is usually dressy casual and comfortable (no jeans please, but it is not necessary to wear a jacket or tie).
Lunch will be served in the congregation's social hall following the service. The lunch will end at about 1:00 p.m.
Sparky's Hot Rod Garage is a unique venue filled with custom hot rods, quirky collectibles, pinball machines and games. We'll have a sit-down dinner for the adults and a buffet for the kids. The DJ will keep the party going with music, dancing and games. The party will end at around 10:00pm.
We invite our out-of-town guests to join us for brunch on Sunday, March 15 at our home.
